synopsis

Jaidev

Jayadeva (Asit Baran) or Jaidev, a great devotee of Lord Vishnu, has great desire to please his Lord by writing Lord's hymns and to make the world enchanted by singing those hymns. But how does he acquire that devotion and dedication to perform that great work? Suddenly, Jaidev finds an unique idol of Radha-Madhava (another name of Lord Vishnu) in the river Ajay and becomes spellbound in joy.
The 'Shaiva' and 'Shakta' devotees of the village are fully against Jaidev who always mock him and try to harm him. They fear that Jaidev will propagate and inspire people to follow Lord Vishnu and as a result people will ignore them. Once, out of extreme jealous, the 'Shaiva' and 'Shakta' devotees damage the Lord's idol, throw it into the river Ajay and beat Jaidev mercilessly.
Jaidev heads towards Puri with a desire to get a vision of Lord Jagannath. At the same time, Padmavati (Debjani Devi) and her father Sudev also reach at the temple of Jagganath. Lord Jagganath appears before Sudev in his dream and ordered him to give his daughter Padmavati in the safe hand of Jaidev. Jaidev becomes charmed with Padmavati's beauty and starts comparing her with Shriradha. He gets a fresh inspiration to write GITA GOVINDA. But this comparison between a human with the God has pierced his heart time and again as he feels this actually degrades his GOD. Out of a repentance, he throws the scriptures into the sea. But, Lord Vishnu himself appears before him from the sea with GITA-GOVINDA in his hand and orders Jaidev to accomplish his unfinished works. Also as per Lord's desire, Jaidev marries Padmavati and starts a new journey.
Eventually, the sweet essence of GITA-GOVINDA spread through out the country.
